Oasis | Be Here Now by Michael Spencer Jones

£495.00

Be Here Now, released on August 21st in 1997, became the fastest-selling album in British music history. One of the most recognisable of all Oasis covers, it was originally conceived as an homage to the late great Keith Moon. The location was Stocks House in Hertfordshire, the former home of tycoon Victor Lownes who hosted many hedonistic parties in the 1970’s, making it a suitable location for an Oasis cover.

The Rolls Royce Silver Shadow was not added later in Photoshop, as is commonly thought, but was submerged in the swimming pool during the photo shoot. Photographer Michael Spencer Jones recalls how the shoot went. “Originally it had been intended to be a night time photograph but the shoot descended into chaos the longer the day went on, so by night fall it had gotten completely out of hand – it was like Alice in Wonderland meets Apocalypse Now. In the end we decided to select a daytime shot.”

Archival fine art print in a limited edition of 195. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
